Introducing our Newest Trustee!
The Better NZ Trust has appointed a new trustee to join the board, now making it a total of six.
Congratulations to Martin Kane of Timaru, who is our first South Island representative.
Martin is not new to the Trust, as he has been a #LeadingTheCharge volunteer and solid Champion of EV for many years, running regular Better NZ Trust events in the Canterbury region.
He purchased his first Nissan LEAF in 2015 and that was joined by a second LEAF in 2017. Martin has been so impressed at the savings—about $3,500/year—that he recently became the proud owner of a Tesla Model X.
As an EV pioneer, Martin and his family completed their first South Island circuit before any chargers had been installed on the Mainland.
Outside of EVs Martin is a secondary school teacher in Timaru, teaching Mathematics. He has a background in Computer Science and in Music. Martin has four daughters who are convinced that they will only ever own electric vehicles.
He enjoys travelling around New Zealand and has participated in the #LeadingTheCharge Great EV Road Trips. Martin was awarded the EVworld 2018 Ecotricity New Zealand EV Champion of the Year
Other "Better NZ Trust" trustees include: Kathryn Trounson (chair), Sean Dick (treasurer), Steve West (co-founder), Carl Barlev (co-founder), and Sigurd Magnusson.
